UPDATE: Experience the #BestSummerEver at Slidefest Philippines

February 10, 2015 by Anna — 10 Comments

In two months time, the Philippines will go into summer mode again. Most people have already made their summer plans, as soon as local airlines release their seat sale promos to the public. There are those who are lucky to book their trips way ahead of time, including activities and accommodations. Some are unlucky because they weren’t able to take advantage of the special summer promos simply because they weren’t informed.

But don’t fret! Here’s an idea for everyone else (including myself) who haven’t set any summer plans for the next few months: SLIDEFEST PHILIPPINES.

WHAT IS SLIDEFEST PHILIPPINES?

Slidefest Philippines is a family-friendly, adrenalin pumping slip and slide water event. It is more than just a slide. It’s a festival, an experience that brings our memories of our childhood to the next level. It is #1000ftOfPureHappiness.

There will be music, food, drinks, water balloons, water guns, and of course the biggest slip and slide ever to hit the streets of the Philippines. And have we mentioned that our slide is 1000 feet long? Yeah, that’s the length of over 3 football fields, or 3000 doughnuts. This will be a festival you will never forget.

My Ideal Vacation to the US

November 2, 2014 by Anna — Leave a Comment

Here in the Philippines, a good percentage of people, if one were to ask them of their dream vacation destination, would answer one of the states in the North America, or one of the popular countries in the European part of the globe. It’s almost always somewhere in the Americas though, in my observation.

Some countries around Asia are worth visiting, too, but it’s accessible to most people here AFAIK since we’re part of the continent. There are a handful of interesting countries in South East Asia as it is. So not many people make a big deal out of it.. This goes to the ones with less stricter to no visa requirements prior to entering the country, anyway.

As for me, at the moment I cannot go as far as beyond visa-free countries around Asia.. boohoo. But, it’s free to dream and make-believe for a moment that anything is possible, so for the entirety of this post.. allow me to lay out my plans here if I were to go to the land of milk and honey. *eyes begin to glisten as I begin typing this entire post*

PS: I may possibly go over the board and write unrealistic stuff. My apologies in advance, this is a fantasy vacation trip after all. Haha.

Making Shopping a Priority During Trips

Whenever I get the opportunity to travel outside the country, I always make it a point to hit up the local mall or shopping district and check out the shops that the Philippines does not have.

It may be a little shallow (or maybe it’s just me?) because you’re given the opportunity to go to another country.. right there, just waiting to be explored. There’s a new culture for you to experience as well, new people to meet, connect, share stories with.. and you only have a few days to get to it — and the first thing you think of had to be shopping?

A Night Out to the Casino vs. Doing it at Home, Online

Over the years, the internet has provided us easier ways to accomplish tasks we normally do “offline” such as paying the bills, depositing money in the bank; shopping at your favorite shops through their websites; and my favorite would be shopping during sale season because I don’t have to rummage both w/ and against the crowd and I can get the best deals from the comfort of my room.

At the end of the day, when I want to unwind after a long busy day, perhaps try my luck at a casino see if lady luck is still there and help me win a little money on the side? For shopping, silly! Lol. There are two things I could do, though, to get on with this.. either I could play online, OR dress up and head to the nearest hotel and casino in my neighborhood. The first option presents a lot of conveniences compared to the second option, though. First convenience is that I definitely can do all the playing from the comfort of my room, and I can just be in my normal lazy clothes outfit. Who has the time to dress up to the nines these days? We’re all lazy here. Haha!
