Things I Love in December

December 22, 2014 by Anna — 6 Comments

Time sure flies fast! In 3 days, it’ll be Christmas day here. But in the Philippines, we all know that Christmas starts as soon as we hit the month of September! 😛 Also, maybe it’s just me but it’s more exciting to celebrate during Christmas eve than Christmas day (the morning after). Don’t know, it feels like a normal day after that. Same goes for New Year’s Eve/Day. Thoughts?

I believe this might be my 2nd to the last OR the last post for this year. In that case, happy holidays/Merry Christmas to you!

Happy Holidays! by Anna Esguerra

Have you prepared for the most joyous event of the year? Let me guess: You’ve exhausted your yearly savings from all the gift shopping for your family and friends. Me? I have been selfish naughty this latter part this year (#treatyoself) and bought all of the things I want for myself that I can afford for now. BUT BEFORE YOU THINK I AM AN AWFUL PERSON — know that I did my share of selflessness and gave my friends and relevant people their gifts earlier this year. I quite like to spoil people when I give them gifts.

Do gifts always need to be wrapped in fancy packaging? Does gift-giving always need to be done on certain days of the year? It doesn’t have to be like that, right? Why would you wait, when you can do it now? When there are other days you can do it, you have 364 other days to choose from! Yeah — I’ve done the act of selfless giving, reached my quota.

My Unpopular Not Really 7107-Related Night

February 27, 2014 by Anna — Leave a Comment

Everyone has their share of opinions about the recently concluded 7107 music festival last weekend. No, I didn’t go. (#brokeassblogger problems) But would it count for anything that I did go to one of the mall shows w/ a couple of their artists headlining it?

Well I did, and it was ‘nice’. I am not a fan nor do I know a handful of songs from both performers, but it’s still something. At the end of the day I’d have my own story related to 7107 to tell people about. Hahahaha. Not close, not quite, but still somehow connected.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

So what really happened was that I accompanied a friend (who’s already going to the festival itself the next day, w/ tickets and hotel accommodation already set, by the way) to the 2nd mall show featuring The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and The Astroid Galaxy Tour. It was in the Venice Piazza mall in the McKinley Hill, BGC. Far from where I usually go. Show’s venue was at the open area location.

It was my 2nd time to go to that mall and we even got lost on our way there. That’s what happens when you try to save up money by taking multiple public transports even though you have no concrete idea how to go there instead of saving time (but not money) and getting a cab in the first place that’ll take you there. Luckily when we arrived, the show hasn’t started yet.

Things I saw

August 2, 2013 by Anna — 7 Comments

This not something original that I came up. I saw this first from one of the people I follow on tumblr, @negativepleasure is his username I think. :)) Basically the point of a Things I Saw post is to post pictures of things you saw. Simple, no? LOL

My first set for this includes places around Ayala (Greenbelt mall), Makati, Mall of Asia By the Bay areas. These are from 2 weeks ago-Monday this week. At the time that I kept going back to Makati to get my laptop fixed (battery was starting to die and it needed replacement).

Weather was gloomy on my way there. Good thing it didn’t rain because I was left in the repair shop and I walked from the repair shop to Greenbelt. Psh.

This Monday, I went to Greenbelt again to watch films from this year’s Cinemalaya festival. Well that’s for another separate entry.. IF I get around to typing it down without spoiling anything.

Anyhoo. I didn’t really have any purpose for taking these photos aside from posting some of them in Instagram later on. Then I realized as I was cleaning my phone, I have a lot of photos! Might as well post them here instead of just dumping them on a folder, to be burned to a DVD for backup.

Disclaimer: As much as I’ve been going to this place all my life, I still do not know the names of the streets aside from knowing the landmarks and knowing that the general area where the malls are is in “Ayala, Makati city”. So um, enjoy the photos and if you feel the need to correct me if I have labeled a location wrong in the photo, feel free to post in the comments! 😛 I really just take photos for my own documenting purposes. And if you’re within the Philippines, I’m sure these wouldn’t interest you because you see this place every day especially if you’re working near this area.

So without further distractions, here the rest of the photos under the cut. Enjoy. =))
