I woke up early this morning for no reason only to browse my phone. I notice that I do this a lot now. But when it comes to days that I have Dialysis early in the morning, I am in deep sleep. During days of Dialysis, I get lazy to get up early, eat and rush to the comfort room to get ready because, ugh, Dialysis again?!
Anyway, it’s not like I have the right to complain about my situation. It’s “normal” for us to complain about each thing that is taken away from us, like the little things normal people take for granted like taking a bath. That’s true though,
Had my breakfast early, and found out my mom made me Hash Browns. Yum, one of my favorite food since the time I started dialysis! I know, I know. Potato is one of the big no-no food for us Lvl 5 CKD (Level 5 Chronic Kidney Disease). Along with Potato, we are also not allowed to have Bananas.. something about those can get your Potassium (Phosphorus?) levels high.
Funny thing is, yesterday at Dialysis, I had three Hash Browns. I was busy eating during treatment and I tasted something that definitely wasn’t a potato. It’s hair… from someone.
Ew. Suddenly, my appetite for Hash Browns is starting to lose since yesterday.
I feel blurting out “this sucks” after hearing all those food that I can’t have. There’s more to that list, but I can only remember Potatoes and Bananas for now. There was a dietician at the center months ago and he was advising each patient what they should and shouldn’t eat. Sorry bro, I can’t with all your advice. I will eat what I want but with less salt. Can I do it? I wanna say yes to that. Man. I am craving pizza since last week!
On Dialysis: When I started Dialysis it’s been a painful start; there were times that I got dizzy in the first 30 minutes, and another time when I started but I didn’t eat (Dialysis sucks your blood in their machine and cleans it using a Dialyzer) so we had to stop the treatment, times when I mistakenly took my antihypertensive medicines that caused my blood pressure to drop heavily and that is bad for someone who has to go through Dialysis. Thankfully my Catheter site didn’t hurt from the start that I had this done up to now.
These last two were what I’d consider the worst: An infection to your catheter is when your catheter has bacteria (or maybe a virus) that spreads through your body during the Dialysis so this is why you must. be. careful. and. be. 100%. clean. with. your. catheter. I believe it was three weeks ago that I went to the hospital to get myself treated for this. I felt cold each Dialysis, unexplainable fever that I had to have around five blankets around me to get me warm and that it causes my body’s temperature to the point that it might cause my body to have seizures (again, big no-no).
Last would be the episodes of seizures. I think I might have figured out what causes them to attack so what I do is really try to have food in my tummy. There was a time that I woke up feeling hungry. I also didn’t take my medicines yet at the time. And then I had another episode just when I was about to take them meds. The dog even ate one of my night guards during that episode. Bad dog!
Sometimes I look around online for people around my age who experience the same thing as I do. But really, like once in a blue moon kind of thing. It’s not that I am not friendly, but it is tiring to share my story again and again and again to people who are in the same case as me and hear the same thing? Like I would rather just read your day and that’ll be fine. If I have questions I will ask for your advice. However, I search for rules like what to eat and what can’t we eat. Today, I searched if we can eat Grapes, since Grapefruit and Cranberry juice isn’t advisable. Weird.
This is why I rather wouldn’t share more about my condition online. 🙁 I feel at a loss when it comes to sharing stuff online now. I don’t even know how to use Instagram and Twitter other than the basic functions of it. I see some effects on people’s IG stories and I’m like “um, how do they do that? that handwriting thing, how?????”. 😆
Thank you for your concerns, prayers, and care for me. I appreciate it. I hear that more prayers are a good charm for the prayer you are praying for, too. Once in a while I will post how I am doing. It is best to catch me around online in social media though. 😉
Gotta go back to watching old school Filipino movies while they are still showing in a local TV network here since it is still Halloween week here!
BTW! I am so sorry for that hot link image that shows up 98% around my website. Yes you got it right, my website doesn’t host all my images. They’re all too heavy for my webspace, sorry. I am slowly working on that.
On the other hand, here is a Google Chrome extension that may be of good use to you for the meantime. I’m sure I’m not the only one who uses PB for hosting images from their blog? The link is not spam nor does it have any viruses and won’t point you to any website other than Google Chrome webstore site.
