Current wants

February 16, 2011 by Anna — Leave a Comment

I was going to blog about this weeks ago (and this is the part where I put again another reason why I wasn’t able to do it) BUT a) DSL keeps going bonkers just in time when I was about to click the publish button and it would b) take 24 hours before it goes back to normal again and lastly c) This post would be full of photos from online stores and I didn’t want to use my crappy broadband internet stick to access the net cuz the photos would be pixelated/even more crap than crap (?).

Also, I tried to change this blog’s layout since last night but I haven’t found the perfect theme. 🙁 I must’ve downloaded around 6 themes and modified them one way or another but in the end only one of them nearly satisfied me.. until I found this problem with displaying images in a post. A teeny margin/padding problem that I can’t seem to fix even with tinkering the theme’s CSS file.

Jesus, I just want a clean but stylish WordPress theme. Why is it so hard to find a decent website for it?? It’s not like I’m going to rip off the credits and pass it off as my own!! I wouldn’t do that. Grr.

Anyway, current wants! I’m out in the market (online, yeah in case you haven’t figured it out yet haha) looking for these stuff. Unfortunately I can only look but not buy or own any of these because

  • They don’t have it here
  • If they do, it’s probably expensive by a few hundred pesos or more

There was a day when all I did was look online for cardigans, laptop accessories and shoes. Not so much luck with the shoes.. especially when I try to look for a good pair at the malls here.

Image-heavy post. 😉

First off, cardigans!

My search for a new cardigan has been going on for a looooong time. The only cardigan I’ve bought in my life has been worn enough and it’s very loose around the edges now and it’s falling apart (the stitches on the wrist part of the sleeve have come off). That specific cardigan is special, you see. Not only because it’s the only one I have, and the first, but because it’s been with me everywhere I’ve been. It doesn’t help that it’s been washed frequently, it still looks very worn out and the color went from white to dirty white :)).  As of this writing I already put it in the depths of my closet, and I’ve been on the lookout for its replacement ever since.

Apparently.. cardigans are one of the things that are “in” this season. Therefore a lot of people want one and they’re not exactly as affordable as they were 2-3 years ago. Yup that’s how long mine survived and I nearly used it everyday (on times when my classes are at the really cold AC’d rooms at SDA). I remember when I got mine it was less than $8, now most of the cardigans are see are around $15 or $20. It just bothers me a lot because years ago people did not give a shit about it.. now they’re all hoarding the good plain designed cardigans. I actually have a use for them, maybe they only have it because it’s the current trend.. 6 months later it will be on their closet, rotting and starting to smell like mothballs.

Enough of my ranting (because there’s going to be more of that later just you see)! Some photos of pretty cardigans I found online. I want to buy of these but.. er, just refer to my reasons on top.

Old Navy Open-Front Jersey Cardigan

Old Navy Pointelle-Trim Cardigan

Old Navy Lightweight 3/4-Sleeve Cardigan

Gap Ribbed waist cardigan

The last one is priced at $49.95.. lol, no freakin’ way am I going to buy a sweater that costs almost PHP 2000! People at the Landmark or at the tiangge and fashion bazaars need to restock on their plain cardigans S O O N!! Oh and to please not make your cardigans ridiculously expensive just because it’s the current “in” thing. Some people need it as something to keep them warm, not as a fashion statement/accessory. I’d post pieces from F21 too but I got lazy, hahaha. Just know this, my preferred cardigan design is plain and round neck, no vneck.

I’ve been looking for a good pair of yellow sneakers since November last year but no avail.. I’ve even tried to lower my standards and get those cheap pairs of shoes at the department store instead that costs PHP 300 because it looks the same as a branded pair of sneakers anyway but.. jesjhfsjdfsk THEY DON’T HAVE A NEW PAIR IN STOCK IN MY SIZE. I’ve looked at Vans, Chucks, Keds.. either expensive or they don’t have the pair I want in my size. Jesus. Well, I’ve given up on looking for any pair of shoes under Vans because their smallest size still doesn’t fit me. *shrugs off*

PS: My shoe collection isn’t that big.. Sometimes I wear the same pair everyday to school. #Howdoesthatworkforyou?

Lastly, bags!! Man, Forever21 is just OVERFLOWING with lovely bags. It’s too bad that they don’t have these bags at their store here in Manila. Well, there’s one, but it’s not exactly THE one I was looking forward to buy. 🙂

F21 Pebbled Bucket Bag

F21 Peekaboo Cheetah Leatherette Bag

F21 Classy Drawstring Tote (This one I saw at Megamall)

F21 Large Distressed Leatherette Bag

Of course I saved the best one (that I liked/want to have) for last! 🙂 If you noticed, it looks similar to the bag I bought that I posted about in here.. I showed this photo to my friend and she told me that I like bags shaped like this, organic shape. I wasn’t sure what she meant by that. Yep I like bags shaped like a box, square-ish.. especially if it has more compartments/zippers/pockets. I’m looking for more brown and black leather bags that are affordable (that being the main keyword, haha). While some people think the goods at F21 are “affordable” it’s out of my budget.. well except for that last bag, I might be willing to buy it no matter how much it costs (just not more than PHP 2,500 please lol) IF it’s really that good.

One thing I hate with online shopping is the uncertainty with the sizes/dimensions of the product. I’ve wanted to buy a lot of clothes and shoes but I’ve restrained myself because I’d hate it if I get something of the wrong size and I’d have to ship it back for a replacement. And what if the replacement still does not fit me, now what? Actually I’ve been in that situation before.. the replacement I got is somewhere in my shoe rack, gathering dust.. Ugh. Waste of $20. Sure the dimensions are there but I still have other things to look for when it comes to buying a product. Sometimes the description doesn’t exactly fit the item, or like me, I’m not too keen with measurements.. being a slow person when it comes to numbers. *sigh*

AAAAAHHH I REALLY WANT THAT BAG!! IT’S BROWN AND IT’S PERFECT FOR MY NEEDS!

Lastly, the computer accessory I’m going to need before I can take this laptop anywhere outside my room. I’m starting to get less OC with this but I can’t risk it with taking this outside and have it getting scratched somehow (it’s bound to happen anyway). Need to save up for this!!

Wrapsol Protective Film for MBP 15″

It’s 4AM and I need to get up early later so I can work on my activities and definitely need to start on that progress with my thesis post-production. Later days!

PS: Do recommend me a good, really good WP Themes website PLEASE! I really want to change my layout here, haha.
